Committees
The Archives Committee is responsible for receiving, acknowledging, and cataloging artifacts, documents, photographs and local memorabilia contributed to the Associations collections by residents of the community. The Committee also creates and maintains interesting displays of UMHA collections.
The Committee:
The UMHA displays may be seen in the west entrance to the Upper Moreland Township Building, the second floor of the Township Building, and the public library. The UMHA library and museum collections number in the thousands and are available for public access in the Associations Suite 500 in the lower level of the Township Building by appointment. Appointments can be made by leaving a message with the Upper Moreland Free Public Library staff at 215-659-0741. Someone from UMHA will get back to you to schedule the appointment.
Anyone wishing to contribute items of historic significance to the Association may do so by contacting any member of the UMHA staff, or by writing to the UMHA at 117 Park Avenue, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Material contributions will be carefully preserved and cared for. All items are formally acknowledged, listed in the Associations official manifest, and when on display list the contributor. Items donated in memory of a loved one will also have that persons name displayed.
Items being sought are: books and pamphlets on local history, manuscripts, old deeds and documents, family genealogies, small artifacts, maps, photographs, videos, and audiotapes. We are also looking for histories of local businesses, schools, churches, and civic Organizations.
