Who We Are

The Upper Moreland Historical Association is a non-profit organization founded by a group of citizens who are concerned that the community's significant and colorful history not be forgotten.

Association Mission

The role of the Upper Moreland Historical Association in the community is the collection, preservation and stewardship of our history, folklore, and culture. Our mission includes the commitments to foster an appreciation for local history, to promote an interest in the area's past events, people and unique cultures, and to instill a sense of pride in the heritage of our community.

The Association is dedicated to making a difference in this area of our community in several ways:

The Association welcomes and encourages the support and participation of all persons who have an interest in local history and who want to contribute historic materials or assist in the activities and events in quest of preserving the history of Upper Moreland.

Areas of Interest

The Association is comprised of many committees, each of which focuses on one particular aspect of local history. These groups represent the extent of our current activites and interests. We are always looking for persons to become involved in interesting and exciting challenges, so members are encouraged to take part in any and every committee whose activites interest them. There are plenty of ways to get involved in our local history!

Below are our current Committees. Details about what each group does and their current projects can be found on each committee's page. To volunteer for a committee, or if you have any information which could help out a certain project, please contact the Committee Chairperson via e-mail on the Membership and Contact page.
